How the breakdown works:

In use, Enviro Gards® Flushable Ultra Thin Pads provide superior comfort and performance compared to full-size maxi pads. The combination of cold water and flushing agitation instantaneously begins a breakdown of product integrity, reducing it to a flushable state. Once it reaches a septic or sewerage system, requisite bacteria complete the biodegradable cycle.

These action photographs show how quickly an Enviro Gards® napkin disperses in water. They depict a normal flushing action and show the napkin breaking into small pieces. The coverstock loses its integrity but tends to remain intact. However, its volume is so small, typically no greater than toilet tissue, that it poses no problems when flushing. The dispersed napkin enters the sewage system and commences degradation when in contact with mirco-organisms. There is no residual material to cause any problems to the sewage system or to any location where sludge is deposited.
